Signal

Molly is a signal fork, which means someone has created a custom version of signal. The biggest difference between Molly and Signal is that you can put a password on the app, the app itself is just like Signal. Here is how to install it. You can also read more here before you begin.

          • Search for Molly. (Or signal)
          • Click on Molly. (Or signal)
          • Click on Install.
          • Let it download.
          • Click on Install on the popup.

          • Within the signal app, click on the little picture in the upper left corner
          • Go to “Account”
          • Enable “PIN reminders”.
          • Enable “Registration Lock”.
          • Go back

Phone Number

          • Go to “Phone number” and set both to “Nobody”.
          • Go back

          • Enable “Database encryption” (optional & only works in Molly).
          • Set your passphrase and confirm it.
          • Click on “Automatic lockdown” and verify its checked.
          • Click ok.
          • Click on device lock timeout and set it to 30 minutes or less.

Finish up

          • Block unknown to prevent spammers.
          • Set disappearing messages to a default timer of 24 hours or less.
          • Enable “Incognito keyboard”.
          • Click “Advanced”.
          • Enable “Allow relay calls”.
          • Enable “Show status icon”.

Conclusion

And done. Here you go, now you have a fully functional encrypted messenger app that is also very popular. Well so thats not all you need, but in reality you could use the phone as it is, if you don’t need all kinds of fancy things. I have a few more apps that I would like to introduce before I end this section so that I will do.
