NextDNS
Here are ways to setup your NextDNS. Remember that when you set up NextDNS, if it blocks things you’re using, you will need to allow them to go through. Therefore I recommend to keep calm and try allowing the domain that gets blocked first before troubleshooting or reinstalling.
GrapheneOS
To manage your account on GrapheneOS, follow these steps:
- Open System Settings.
- Select Network & internet.
- Tap on Private DNS.
- Click on Private DNS provider hostname.
- Go to NextDNS and find your hostname under setup that look like a web address
- Enter your hostname in the field provided.
- Press Save.
Raspberry Pi OS
On the latest version of Raspberry Pi OS, the setup is as follows:
- Click on the Wi-Fi icon in your taskbar.
- Hover over Advanced Options.
- Click on Edit Connections….
- Select the network where you want to add DNS.
- Click the settings icon at the bottom.
- Navigate to IPv4 Settings.
- Enter your NextDNS that look like a web address
- Click Save.
NextDNS – Brave Browser
To configure it in the Brave Browser on desktop:
- Open Brave and click on the three lines in the upper right corner.
- Go to Settings.
- Click on Privacy and security.
- Select Security.
- Enable Use Secure DNS.
- In the text bar, enter your NextDNS address that look like a web address
NextDNS – Firefox
To configure it in the Firefox on desktop:
- Open Firefox and click on the three lines in the upper right corner.
- Go to Settings.
- Click on Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to “Enable DNS over HTTPS using.”
- Enable “Max Protection.”
- Under “Choose provider”, In the text bar, enter your NextDNS address that look like a web address.
NextDNS – Vanadium Browser
After setting it up on your phone using GrapheneOS, you can configure it in Vanadium:
- Open Vanadium.
- Go to Settings.
- Click on Privacy and security.
- Scroll to the bottom and select Use secure DNS.
- Click on Choose another provider.
- In the text bar, enter your DNS address that look like a web address
NextDNS – Chromium
To configure it in the Chromium on desktop:
- Open Chromium and click on the three dots in the upper right corner.
- Go to Settings.
- Click on Privacy and security.
- Click on “Security.”
- Enable “Use secure DNS.”
- Click the drop down menu “Add custom DNS service provider”, In the text bar, enter your NextDNS address that look like a web address
Finding NextDNS Info
How to find your NextDNS address? Go to the next DNS website or app, after that login on your NextDNS account and look at the tab “Setup”. That will have all the info you need. You can click here to go to the official website
