Tuta
Tuta is an outstanding mail service that is leading in both privacy and security, easily surpassing other options. Emails are fully encrypted, and they don’t track your identity. They prioritizes privacy and security above all else. One notable feature is the ability to create an unlimited number of addresses if you have a custom domain, which significantly enhances your privacy and security. The support team are professional and very much to the point.
Key Points
- The “Legend plan” is cheap.
- Infinite custom domain addresses.
- Encrypted and no tracking.
- Open-source.
- Very nice built-in calendar.
- Focus on being an email, not a suite.
Based In Germany
Tuta is based in Germany, allowing its users to enjoy the robust protections offered by GDPR. This regulation, known for its strong privacy standards, therefore ensures that personal data is handled with the care and transparency your data needs. Moreover, the German culture places a strong emphasis on privacy, making it one of the countries where the people values individual privacy rights.
If there’s any nation that embodies a dedication to privacy, it’s Germany. Being situated within the European Union further enhances Tuta’s commitment to safeguarding user information. The EU’s collective standards significantly elevate privacy norms compared to many other regions worldwide. This environment allows Tuta to provide not just a service, but a secure haven for users who prioritize their privacy.
Tuta’s Support Team
A few times I had conversations with Tuta’s support team. I felt like it was quite respectful and I felt like there has never been any bad questions. Therefore it feels like there is a mutual respect in conversations with Tuta’s support team. It honestly felt it was a relief after all.
I had very mediocre support from Proton after all. An example was when I tested a product for about an hour a day and after two weeks of daily reporting back, I got a new guy. This guy sounded more like he wanted to get rid of me instead of respecting the fact that I was trying to help them with some honest feedback. Tuta is quite the opposite of what Proton is when it comes to support.
Tuta’s Revolutionary Plan
If you still want a premium plan but can’t afford €8 a month, then they have another plan for €3 a month called “Revolutionary.”
- 20GB storage
- Unlimited number of calendars
- Unlimited number of labels
- 15 email aliases (ultimate with custom domains)
- 3 different custom domains
This is also a great plan; in my opinion, the best option for most is to get the big one. Even a free plan will free you from Google, Microsoft after all.
Tuta’s Legend Plan
Tuta’s support is great, but what’s even greater is their plans. For only €8 a month, you can get:
- 500GB storage
- Unlimited number of calendars
- Unlimited number of labels
- 30 email aliases (ultimate with custom domains)
- 10 different custom domains
The best part is that all accounts can also be on a free tier with the same protection, but it’s well worth it to just get the Legend plan.
